The Life of Dolores Mary Elston

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 11:00 AM in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery for Dolores LaTour Elston. The family will receive visitors at their residence following the service. Dolores, 80, passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Joseph LaTour and Liseau Vidrine LaTour; one son, Rex Anthony Elston; and nine brothers and sisters. Dolores is survived by her husband of 58 years, Dr. David M. Elston, Sr., DVM of Lafayette; two sons, David M. Elston, Jr. and his wife Rebecca Lynn Elston of Lafayette and Jonathan Elston and his wife Stacey Elston of Magnolia, TX; one daughter, Karen Carson and her husband Dr. Jim Carson, III, DVM of Youngsville; her grandchildren, Crystal, Kelly, Kevin, Thomas and Kathryn Elston and Jim, Cody and John Carson; one sister, Mrs. Gerry Keller and her husband Reginald Keller of Eunice; and one brother, Mr. Jack LaTour and his wife Faye LaTour of Ville Platte. Originally from Ville Platte, LA, Dolores Elston graduated from Ville Platte High School and became a stewardess for Continental Airlines based out of El Paso, TX. In 1952, she married Dr. David M. Elston, Sr., DVM and lived with him in Eunice for several years before moving to Lafayette. The couple lived in Lafayette for 52 years, raising their four children. She shared her love for cooking and French Culture with all of her friends and neighbors. Dolores Elston will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be her eight grandchildren, Crystal, Kelly, Kevin, Thomas and Kathryn Elston and Jim, Cody and John Carson.
