The Life of Hugh Paul Comeaux
Funeral Services will be held at an 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, February 5, 2010 at St. Pius X Catholic Church for Hugh Paul Comeaux, 87, who passed away on February 3, 2010 at 2:30AM at his residence.
Reverend Monsignor Harry Benefiel will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services.
Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Comeaux, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the son of the late Edward Comeaux of Lafayette, Louisiana and the former Eliza Langlinais of Lafayette, Louisiana. Hugh was the Owner of Swift-E Cleaners for over 19 years, served as Past President of the St. Pius X Church parish council, and a Past president of the St. Pius X Ushers Society. He was also a founding member of the St. Pius X Catholic Church community. Mr. Comeaux served in the United States Navy as a Radio Man 1st Class during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Lucy Menard Comeaux of Lafayette; one son, Mark Comeaux and wife Kim of Lafayette; two grandchildren, Ashley and Austin Comeaux; one sister, Irene Larrivierre of Lafayette; and two brothers, Allen Comeaux, and Raymond Comeaux.
He was preceded in death by his Parents; and two brothers, Leo Comeaux, and Fred Comeaux.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Thursday, February 4, 2010 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and will continue on Friday from 9:00 am until service time. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
The family would like to especially thank the doctors who cared for Mr. Comeaux: Dr. Paul Breaux, Dr. Kenneth Spiller, Dr. David Baker and the Staff of St. Joseph’s Hospice. They would also like to extend a special thank you to the family and friends and everyone included in his care, especially Bernice and Doris.
