The Life of Essie Smalley

Essie 90, a resident of Patterson and a native of Lafayette died Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City.

Essie is survived by her four nieces, Essie Romero of Morgan City, Frances Venable of Amelia, Agnes Campbell of Baton Rouge and Juanita Lawland of Las Vegas, NV. And two nephews, Warren Renfroe of Thibodaux and Jimmy Renfroe of San Diego, CA. Essie is also survived by her special friends, “The Gary’s” from Lafayette.

Essie was preceded in death by her husband, William Smalley, her daughter “Mary Ann” Guidry, her parents, Henry Guy LeBlanc and Josephine Agnes LeBlanc, a sister, Geneieve LeBlanc Renfroe, two nephews, John Troglen and Sonny Troglen and special friend, “Mr. Kookie” of Lafayette.

Burial will be in the Lafayette Memorial Cemetery.
