The Life of Elaine Thomas
Memorial Services will be held at a later date for Elaine Rees Thomas, 86, who passed away on March 18, 2009 at 1:20 PM at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Thomas, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the daughter of the late Edwin Rees of Breaux Bridge, LA and the former Elmina Harry of New Iberia, LA. Elaine loved her family and took great joy in her grandchildren. After having her children, she went back to college to attain her bachelors degree in education. In her 20+ years of elementary education, she influenced many young minds with her dedication to teaching. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Otis "Noonie" Thomas, Sr. of Lafayette; one daughter, Dr. Mary Kay Thomas of Lafayette, LA; three sons, Dr. Otis Victor Thomas, Jr. and friend Susan Gregg of Carmel Valley, CA, Glenn M. Thomas and wife Sue of Lafayette, LA and Keith P. Thomas of Baton Rouge, LA; six grandchildren, Kristi Thomas Gannon, Timothy Thomas, Erika Thomas Ross, Scott Thomas, Jessica Thomas and Michael Thomas;two sisters, Bernice Rees Nick and Ophelia "Fefe" Rees Risley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Carmen Rees and Helen Rees Fain; one brother, Edwin Rees, Jr.
