The Life of Katherine Virginia Yandle

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 30, 2007 at First Baptist Church in Lafayette for Katherine ''Kitty'' Virginia Summers Yandle, 89, who died Sunday, March 25, 2007 in Houston, Texas. Reverend Perry Sanders will conduct the funeral services. Interment will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park. Mrs. Yandle was born March 5, 1918 in Houston (Chickasaw County) Mississippi. She was a 1935 graduate of Lafayette High School and a longtime resident of Lafayette. She had been employed as a secretary at First Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Albert Victor Yandle of Dickenson, Texas; a daughter, Carolyn Yandle Heckman of Pasadena, Texas; three grandsons, John Penton of Pasadena, Texas, Steven Penton of Boulder, Colorado and Craig Yandle of Milton, Canada and a granddaughter, Mrs. Raymond Champagne of Baton Rouge; two great granddaughters, Katherine Penton of Pasadena, Texas and Alexis Champagne of Baton Rouge; three sisters, Mrs. Bonnie Youngblood, Mrs. Evelyn Daley and Mrs. Thada Hanson all of Fort Worth, Texas. Her extended family included her daughter-in-law, Ginger Domingue Yandle; son-in-law, Bill Heckman; four step grandchildren and nine step great grandchildren. The family requests that visiting hours be observed Thursday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Delhomme Funeral Home and on Friday from 9:00 AM until time of service at First Baptist Church of Lafayette. Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, is in charge of all funeral arrangements.
