The Life of Velma Turner
Broussard- A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Melvin J. Turner the former Velma Guilliot, 65, will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2011at 1:00PM at St. Anne Catholic Church, with Deacon Cody Miller Officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Saturday, July 23, 2011 from 9:30AM until the time of the services with a recitation of the rosary at 11:00AM. Interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. A native of Youngsville and a resident of Broussard Mrs. Turner died at 1:15PM on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at her residence. She is survived by a son, Roland Turner of Broussard; two daughters, Jenny Davy of Youngsville and Angel T. Lloyd of Broussard; a brother, Andrew Guillot of Broussard; two sisters, Ida G. Hebert of Broussard and Margie Derouen of Broussard; and twelve grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin “Buddy†J. Turner, Sr.; her parents, Saul and Beatrice Alleman Guillot; and two sons, John John Turner and Bobby Turner. Serving as pallbearers will be Roland Turner, Bryan Turner, Ryan Turner, Tyler Turner, Jimmy Lloyd, and Shannon Conner. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Andrew Guillot, Thomas Derouen Sr., Thomas Derouen, Jr., Tim Derouen, and Robert Hebert. David Funeral Home of Youngsville at 201 Lafayette Street.
