The Life of Melvin John Turner Sr.
Broussard - A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Melvin John Turner, 66, will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Edward Duhon officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 from 10:00AM until service time with a recitation of the Rosary at 10:30AM. Interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park. A native of Abbeville and resident of Broussard, Mr. Turner passed away at 4:58AM on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at a local hospital. He is survived by his wife, Velma G. Turner of Broussard; four children, Jenny T. Davy and husband Lonnie of Youngsville, Shannon Conner of Abbeville, Angel T. Lloyd and husband James and Roland Turner, all of Broussard; twelve grandchildren; and numerous brother and sisters. He was preceded in death by his father, Robley J. Turner; his mother, Elizabeth Himel Romero; and two sons, Robert Rivette Turner and Melvin John Turner, Jr. Serving as pallbearers will be his family and friends.
