The Life of Lillian Marie Comeaux
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at a 3:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lafayette, for Lillian Desormeaux Comeaux, 87, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 25, 2007 at her residence in Lafayette.Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Keith J. DeRouen, Rector of Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Vocalist Karen Broussard accompanied on the organ by Tom Niel will play "Amazing Grace", "How Great Thou Art" and "On Eagles' Wings".Survivors include her loving husband of 67 years, Wilmer "Jack" R. Comeaux of Lafayette; two daughters, Cynthia C. Hightower and Juanita C. Russo, her husband, Earl, Jr.; two sons, Wayne H. Comeaux, Wilmer R. Comeaux, Jr. and wife, Lee Ann; one sister, Joyce D. Viator; one brother, Elias Desormeaux; five grandchildren, Richard FlemingII, Stacy F. Shaw, Brian Fleming, Earl F. Russo, III and Shawn Russo; eleven great grandchildren, Richard Fleming, III, Candace Fleming, Seth Fleming, Shelby Gray, Tyler Shaw, Levi Shaw, Earl F. Russo, IV, Ashleigh Russo, Cody Russo, Dylan Russo and Isabella Russo.She was preceded in death by her parents, Damas and Julie Broussard Desormeaux; one sister, Lizzy Mae Bourque; three brothers, U.J. Desormeaux, Howard Desormeaux and Alvin Desormeaux and one son-in-law, J.W. Hightower.A native of Delcambre, Louisiana and a resident of Lafayette since 1942 Mrs. Comeaux was a parishner of the Cathedral of St. John. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. Pallbearers will be John Chastant, Richard Fleming II, Earl Russo, Jr., Earl Russo, III, Brian Fleming and Shawn Russo.A Rosary will be prayed Monday, March 26, 2007 at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home. The family requests that visitation be observed on Monday from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM and on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until time of the services.
