The Life of Wilmer "Jack" Roman Comeaux Sr.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 25, 2010 at a 3:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist for Wilmer R. Comeaux, 93, who died on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.Reverend Justino H. Estoque, Jr., Associate Pastor of Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Giftbearers will be Wayne Comeaux, Juanita Comeaux Russo and Cynthia Comeaux Hightower. Jodi Bollich, vocalist, accompanied on the organ by Tom Niel, will sing for the services, "How Great Thou Art", "Amazing Grace", "On Eagles' Wings", "Ave Maria" and "Pie Jesu".Survivors include his two daughters, Juanita Comeaux Russo and Cynthia Comeaux Hightower; two sons, Wayne Horace Comeaux and Wilmer Roman Comeaux, Jr.; five grandchildren, Earl Francis Russo III, Shawn Ray Russo, Richard Louis Fleming, Stacy F. Shaw and Brian Jack Fleming; twelve great grandchildren, Ashleigh, Earl IV, Cody, Dylan, Isabella, Richard, Candace, Seth, Shelby, Tylar, Levi and Summer; three great great grandchildren, Payton, True and Katie; and one sister, Della Comeaux Migues.He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Desormeaux Comeaux; his parents, Otto and Eve Thibeaux Comeaux; and one sister, Alma Comeaux Newman.A native of Erath, Louisiana and resident of Lafayette for over 67 years, Mr. Comeaux was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him. He worked as a parts manager for many years at Service Chevrolet until his retirement. Mr. Comeaux was a member of the Cathedral of St. John Catholic Church Community as well as the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.A Rosary will be prayed by Monsignor Keith J.
