The Life of Patricia Ann Mayard

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 6, 2010 at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Patricia Ann Mayard, 68, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 1, 2010 at Iberia Medical Center. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Bryce Sibley, Pastor of Our Lady of Wisdom Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Emelie Guidry, organist and soloist, will sing for the services, "You Are Mine", "The 23rd Psalm", "Hail Mary, Gentle Woman", "On Eagles' Wings" and "Prayer of St. Francis". Survivors include one aunt; one uncle; numerous cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Freddie J. and Mae Leleux Mayard and by her loving uncle and aunts, Anthony Zimmerman, Annie Zimmerman and Emma Leleux. Born in Abbeville, Louisiana Ms. Mayard was a resident of Lafayette for all of her life. She was a loving cousin and friend to all who knew her. Ms. Mayard worked for many years at Mr. Cook on the ULL Campus, (formerly USL) and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses and staff of Res/Care, Inc., especially Ms. Lori Broussard and Ms. Deborah Leonard for their kindness, compassion and gentle care given to Miss Mayard during her time of need. Pallbearers will be John W. Guidry, Robert K. Guidry, Randall L. Guidry, Tommy Leleux, Joe Leleux and Ricky Leleux. A Rosary will be prayed on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at 6:00 PM in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN Location. The family requests that visitation be observed on Thursday from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Friday from 8:00 AM until time of services.
