The Life of Anna Gertrude Combs
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 14, 2009 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Anna Gertrude Combs, 83, who passed away on December 11, 2009.
Reverend Perry R. Sanders and Reverend Steve Horn, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Lafayette will conduct the funeral services.
Interment will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Anna Combs, was born on September 1, 1926 and was a resident of Lafayette for more than forty years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lafayette. Anna was a loving and giving volunteer and worked tirelessly to help the homeless and many other areas of charity work. She will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Monroe Combs; two children, Sherry Chappell and Ron Combs; Six grandchildren and Ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Christie Combs and her son, Matt Combs.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Monday from 9:00 AM until Service Time at 2:00 pm at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette.
Pallbearers will be Josh Chappell, Christopher Combs, Charlton Combs, Duke Wood, Joey Hudgin, and Richard Ebner. Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
