The Life of Jeffery Neal Moreau
Funeral services will be held at a Mass of Christian Burial Sunday, May 21, 2006 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers at 3:00 PM for Jeffery Neal Moreau, 43, who died Thursday, May 18, 2006 due to results of a car accident.
The Very Rev. Msgr. J. Douglas Courville, Pastor of St. Jules Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and conduct the funeral services.
Interment will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park.
Mr. Moreau, the son of James Moreau and the former Lora Venable, was a native and lifelong resident of Lafayette. A graduate of the 1981 class of Fatima High School, he played baseball. Upon his graduation, he began his career in the oilfield industry where he remained until his death. Jeff was gifted with the “Joi de vie” and lived his life to the fullest. He had many friends as he was one to never meet a stranger. He was always willing to help anyone. His favorite recreation was playing pool which he began at age 5. Everyone knew Jeff in the pool league circuit. Jeff was especially close to his son and “buddy” Tyler, who was his constant companion. Jeff will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie Stelly Moreau of Lafayette; one son, Tyler Moreau of Lafayette; his parents, Jim and Lora Moreau of Lafayette; one brother, Andre’ E. Moreau and his wife, Angie Bradley Moreau of Lafayette; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Patsy and Herman Stelly of Lafayette; his maternal grandmother, Helen B. Venable of Lawtell; one niece Camille T. Moreau and one nephew Joel B. Moreau both of Lafayette; and several Aunts and Uncles.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed Sunday from 1:00 PM to time of service at 3:00 PM
A rosary will be recited at 2:00 PM Sunday in the funeral home.
Pallbearers will include Mark Leonpacher, Gary Leonpacher, Mark Melancon, P. J. Legendre, Phil Badali and Dennis “Dee” Hollier. Honorary pallbearers will include Jim Venable, Ray Venable, Josh Venable and Terry Moreau.
