The Life of Doris Marie Hebert

Funeral services will be held at a 1:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, November 15, 2007 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Doris Marie Gankendorff Hebert, 86, who died Sunday, November 11, 2007 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette.

Reverend Keith Derouen, Pastor of the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist will be Celebrant of the Mass and conduct the services.

She will be laid to rest in Lafayette Memorial Park.

Mrs. Hebert was a life long member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Alex J. Hebert (88) of Lafayette, LA; her daughter Gayle H. Dartez, wife of Michael R. Dartez; and son David L. Hebert, husband of Nanette M. Hebert, all who reside in Lafayette. Her grandchildren include Jody B. Dartez, husband of Carly Dartez, Jamie D. Holderbein, wife of Ray Holderbein, Michael J. Hebert, husband of Heather B. Hebert, Melissa L. Hebert and Joshua P. Hebert. Her great grandchildren include Molly C. Dartez and Zachary M. Dartez (twins), and Makenzie C. Holderbein. Siblings include her loving sister Lucille Gankendorff Aillet, widow of Charles E. ''Charlie'' Aillet of Lafayette, LA.

Doris was preceded in death by her three brothers, Lawrence ''Lolly'' Gankendorff, husband of Helen Gankendorff, Warren ''Honey'' J. Gankendorff, husband of Dorothy ''Dot'' Gankendorff, and Allen ''Tee-na'' Gankendorff, husband of Joanne B. Gankendorff.

Pallbearers will be Jody Dartez, Michael Hebert, Joshua Hebert, Kenny Gankendorff, Warren Gankendorff, Edgar ''Dino'' Gankendorff and Larry Aillet.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Wednesday, and on Thursday from 9:00 am until the time of service.

A rosary will be recited Wednesday at 7:00 pm in the funeral home.

Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette is in charge of funeral arrangements.
