The Life of Richard Alvin Guidry Sr.

A Mass of Christian Burial and Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, April 27, 2009 at the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Richard "Al" Guidry, Sr., 80, who passed away on April 23, 2009.

Reverend Monsignor Charles Mallet will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services.

Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Guidry, Sr., a resident of Delcambre, Louisiana, was the son of the late Milton Francis Guidry of Lafayette, Louisiana, and the former Louise Delcambre Guidry of Erath, Louisiana. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and a long time member of the Knights of Columbus in Crowley.

He is survived by two sons, Charles "Ted" Guidry and his wife Liz of Crowley and Richard "Rick" Guidry and his wife Elaine of Lafayette; two daugthers, Jody G. Gross and her husband George of Hackberry and Nannette G. Hickey and Steve Turrentine also of Hackberry; ten grandchildren, Adrienne Guidry, Jeffery Guidry, Kirk Hickey, Jason Hickey, Malori Hickey, WIlliam Hickey, Christopher Gross, Jackie Gross, Megan Guidry and Jamie Guidry; three great-grandsons, Noah Guidry, Evern Hickey, Carson Hickey and one sister, Carman Perrin and seven half-brothers and sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his spouse, Doris Hebert Guidry and one granddaughter Allison Paulette Guidry.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Monday, April 27, 2009 from 10:00am until time of services at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette in Lafayette.

Pallbearers will be Jeffery Guidry, Kirk Hickey, Jason Hickey, William Hickey, Chris Gross and Dell Hains.

Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive Lafayette, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
