The Life of Dorothy Landry

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at 1:30 PM in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for Dorothy Patin Landry, 82, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at her residence in Duson.Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park. Reverend Monsignor Robie Robichaux, JCL, Pastor of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Lafayette will conduct the funeral services.Survivors include one daughter, Madeline L. Breaux of Duson; two sons, Larry Paul Landry and his wife Becky of Conroe, TX and Creig M. Landry of Duson; seven sisters, Annabelle Steele of Bristol, LA, Dolores Montet of Maurice, Vivian Broussard of Maurice, Verna Hebert of Maurice, Lois Bonin of Lafayette, Linda Carlise of Breaux Bridge and Vicki Thompson of Berwick, LA; one grandson, Nicholas Breaux and his wife Katy of Jackson, MS; one step granddaughter, Kellie Allen of Baton Rouge; one great granddaughter, Sara Madeline Breaux of Jackson, MS; and numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace “Snook” Landry; parents, Gilbert and Annette Broussard Patin; three brothers, Jimmy Patin, Raymond Patin and Michael Patin; and four sisters, Clara Belle Patin, Ruby Breaux, Judith Morvant and Kathleen Dore’.A lifelong resident of Lafayette, Dorothy Patin Landry, known to many as “Dottie” was an accomplished seamstress, making costumes, wedding dresses and Mardi Gras gowns all of her adult life. She enjoyed being with family and friends, especially playing cards and always had a smile on her face. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. “Dottie” will be dearly missed by family, friends and all who knew her.Pallbearers will be Raymond Montet, Archie Dore’, Nicholas Breaux, Rickey Sonnier, Darrell Guidry and George Craig.A Rosary will be prayed Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home. The family requests that visitation be observed on Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday from 10:00 AM until time of service.
