The Life of Reggie John Breaux
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 13, 2009 at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Reggie John "RJ" Breaux, 70, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport.Interment will be held in Holy Mary Mother of God Cemetery in Lafayette.Reverend Gary Schexnayder, Pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Crowley, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Giftbearers will be Kristi Cormier, Richard "Ricky" Breaux and Randy Breaux. Lectors will be Monica Crooks and Dawn Vincent.Survivors include one daughter, Kristi Cormier and her husband, Brent; two sons, Randy Breaux and Richard "Ricky" Breaux and his wife, Casandra; six grandchildren, Jeremy David Breaux, Jason Donovan Breaux, Cody Michael Breaux, Haley Lynn Breaux, Alex Breaux and Sarah Cormier; one sister, Evelyn Venable; and one brother, Nelson Breaux and his wife, Jeannette.He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Inez Hernandez Breaux; two brothers, Lee Ray Breaux and Herby Louis Breaux.A native and lifelong resident of Lafayette, Louisiana, Mr. Breaux was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. Mr. Breaux loved the outdoors, especially when working in his garden or riding his tractor. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.Pallbearers will be Randy Breaux, Ricky Breaux, Brent Cormier, Jeremy Breaux, Cody Breaux, Tony Short, Nelson Breaux and Hans Eli Clark.A Rosary will be prayed on Sunday, July 12, 2009 at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette.The family requests that visitation be observed on Sunday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM and willcontinue on Monday from 8:00 AM until time of services.
