The Life of Esther Wadette Abboud

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church for Esther Wadette Abboud, 86, who passed away on December 6, 2008 at 10:15 am. Reverend Michael Russo, Pastor of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Interment will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park. Mrs. Abboud, a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Zacharis Farah and the former Dora Farah both of Beirut, Lebanon. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Saleema Abboud Landry and Kenneth, Wadette Abboud Gauthreaux and Frankie Joe both of Lafayette; one son, David E. Abboud and his wife, Kay of Jacksonville, Florida.; twelve grandchildren, Michelle Patton, Kristy Oliver, Jamie LeBlanc, Monica Istre, Chad Abboud, Nicole Landry, Frankie Gauthreaux, Dayna Abboud, Jessica Landry, Jeffery Abboud, Brittany Landry and Timothy Abboud; eleven great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Josephine Norse and Sadie Abboud. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Abboud; and her parents. The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Tuesday from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm and will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 am until time of service at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Tuesday in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Chad, Jeffery, Blake and Timothy Abboud, Frankie Gauthreaux and Michael Norse, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Abboud and Philip Norse, Jr. Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
