Love Never Ends"...Your GirlsFuneral services will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2007 at a 1:30 PM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Alcide "A.B." Dugas, 82, who passed away peacefully at 11:15 PM on Sunday, April 15, 2007 at his residence in Lafayette.Interment will be in Holy Mary Mother of God Cemetery in Lafayette.Reverend Floyd J. Calais, will be the celebrant of the funeral mass and will conduct the funeral services. Valerie Andrus, vocalist, accompanied by Julie Broussard, vocalist, will sing for the services, "Battle Hymn of the Republic", "Go Rest High On That Mountain", "Amazing Grace", "Yahweh Is My Shepherd", "Notre'' Pere", "Surely the Presence". Lector will be Ernest Dugas. Giftbearers will be Allen Chiasson, Ashton Chiasson, and Karl Castille.Survivors include three daughters, Patricia "Pat" Newgebaver and her husband, Jerry, Phyllis Hebert and her husband, Pete, and Pam Furness and her husband, Greg; four grandchildren, Monique Guiterrez, Brett Brinkman, Chad Newgebaver, and Jeremy Girod; two step-grandchildren, Gunnery SGT. Shayne Hebert, USMC and Shawn Hebert; four great grandchildren, Andre, Priscilla, and Annie Guiterrez, and Kaizer Girod; one step-great grandchild, Alondra Rose Hebert; two brothers, Ernest Dugas and his wife, Norma and J.D. Dugas; and his longtime friend, and "adopted" son, Lloyd Turner.He was preceded in death by his parents, Alcee Dugas and Leontine Robin Dugas; his spouse, Genevieve "Gigs" Dugas; one daughter, Priscilla Dugas Magnon; three sisters, Bernice Simoneaux, Anna Mae Castille, and Mabel "Sis" Chiasson; and two brothers, John Dugas and Cleveland "TuTu" Dugas.A Native of Sulphur, Louisiana and resident of Lafayette for most of his life, Mr. Dugas was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him. "Dog", as he was known by his fellow co-workers, was employed with Amoco Production Company where he retired after 36 years. Mr. Dugas was a horse trainer, breeder and owner, and enjoyed spending time watching his horses compete and win at racetracks throughout the state. He loved his family and friends dearly and enjoyed visiting and spending time with them. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.Pallbearers will be Brett Brinkman Chad Newgebaver, Jeremy Girod, Harris Guidry, II, Harvey Dugas, Brent Toups, Shawn Hebert, and Maximo Lamarche, M.D. Honorary Pallbearers will be J.D. Dugas, Ernest Dugas, Ned Simoneaux, Myra Guidry, Gunnery SGT. Shayne R. Hebert, USMC, Frederico DelToro, M.D., Juan Zeik, M.D., Jorge Belgodere, M.D., Roderick Clark, M.D., Cank Prejean, Ed Richard, L.P.
