The Life of Paul L Boyd
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, November 16, 2006 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Paul Boyd, 85, who passed away November 11, 2006 at Southwest-Medical Center of Southwest Louisiana.
Interment will take place at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Rev. Perry Sanders, Pastor Emeritus of First Baptist Church will officiate at the services.
Mr. Boyd, was a native of Gurden, Arkansas and a resident of Lafayette. He worked for Phillips Petroleum for 40 years. He was a loving husband, father and devoted grandfather. His grandchildren would say “he walked on water”.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Mildred Louise Boyd; one daughter, Linda Kay Eggleston; one son, Paul Roger Boyd and wife, Cheryl; six grandchildren, Michael S. Thompson, Aaron Carola, Carrie L. Eggleston, Rochelle Boyd, Steven Boyd and Amanda Holcomb; one sister, Millie Boyd and sister-in-law, Nita Boyd.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Richard E. Boyd; five siblings and one grandson, Nathan Paul Carola.
Visiting hours will be observed on Wednesday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm and will continue on Thursday from 12:00 pm until the time of service.
Pallbearers will be Roger Boyd, Michael Thompson, Aaron Carola, Andy Bataglia and Gui Andrade.
