The Life of Joseph Oren Trahan

Funeral services will be held at a Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic for Joseph Oren Trahan, 75, who died Saturday, November 4, 2006 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Interment will take place in Holy Mary, Mother of God Cemetery. The Rev. Msgr. Glen Provost, Pastor of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church will be Celebrant of the Mass and conduct the funeral services. Mr. Trahan, a native of Rayne, was the son of the late Cyprien Trahan and the former Mary Credeur. He had served in the U. S. Air Force. H was a member of the U. S. Air Force Singing Sergeant''s Choir stationed at Elmendorf Air Base in Anchorage, Alaska. He had been a member of LAGCO from 1961 to 1995 and was named Lagcoe Looey in 1995. He was also involved in the PTA and Boy Scouts. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Jeannette ''Sally'' Trahan of Lafayette; daughters, Mary Trahan, Marla Trahan; sons, Michael Trahan and wife, Jane, David Trahan; grandchild, Katherine Trahan all of Lafayette; and his sister Olive Petitjean of Rayne. He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant brother. The family requests that visiting hours be observed Monday from 3:00 pm and 8:00 pm. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm Monday in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Bryan Petitjean, Joel Simon, C. J. Woodley, William Meaux, Brandon Frey and Douglas Frey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one''s choice. Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, is in charge of all arrangements.
