The Life of Robert James Chiasson

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, November 6, 2006 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Robert James Chiasson, 74, who passed away Saturday, November 4, 2006 at his home. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park. Rev. John deLeeuw will conduct the funeral services. Mr. Chiasson was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Lafayette. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was employed for many years in the oil & gas service industry before his retirement. Mr. Chiasson was an avid golfer. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Evelyn Martin Chiasson; his father, Gaston Paul Chiasson; and his mother, Annette Blanchard Chiasson. Survivors include his daughter, Kathy Chiasson DuPont and her husband, Larry of New Orleans; his son, Barry Paul Chiasson and his wife, Joyce of Houston, TX; his special, loving friend, Barbara Veillon Friedman; his brother, Lloyd E. Chiasson, Sr. and his wife Helen; his nephew, Lloyd E. Chiasson, Jr.; four grandchildren, Jason Paul Chiasson, Kimberly Renee Chiasson, Lawrence Edward DuPont, IV and Claire Marie DuPont. The family requests that visiting hours be observed Monday from 10:00 AM to time of services. The family would like to give special thanks to Journey Hospice, Brenda Brasseaux and Esther Broussard. Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, is in charge of all funeral arrangements.
