The Life of Helen Boudreaux
Funeral services will be held at a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, September 23, 2006 at 11:00 AM in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Helen Hebert Boudreaux, 76, who died Thursday, September 21, 2006 at her residence.
Rev. Msgr. Charles Mallet will be Celebrant of the Mass and conduct the funeral services. Rachel, her granddaughter will play Amazing Grace. Readings will be Psalm 139 and 27. Mrs. Boudreaux was the daughter of Celestine Courville and Treville Hebert both of Sunset, LA. Helen was born in Cankton, LA and has been a resident of Lafayette since 1947. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, John A. Boudreaux; two daughters, Gloria Faye Boudreaux-Bartels and husband, William Bartels of West Kingston, RI, and Mona Ann Boudreaux and partner, Deborah Mitchell of Barrington Hills, IL; two grandchildren, Rachel L. Bartels and Nathan C. Bartels; one sister, Gladys Benoit and husband, Jake; one brother, Howard Hebert and wife, Irma; two sisters-in-law, Louise Hebert and Ruth Menard; two godchildren, Roland Burleigh and Joy Slyvester; and numerous nieces and nephews and in-law nieces and nephews she dearly loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Edgar Hebert, Sr.; sister, Theresa Burleigh; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Edith and Gustave Boudreaux. The family requests that visiting hours be observed Friday from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM and continue Saturday from 8:00 AM to time of service.
A rosary will be recited Friday at 6:30 PM in the funeral home by Rev. Msgr. Charles Mallet. Pallbearers will include Roland Burleigh, E.J. Hebert, Ronnie Menard, Kenneth Menard, Weston Kilchrist, Everett Thompson, Floyd Courvelle, and Thomas J. Black. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. John Rainey and Felicia Fontenot for taking such good care of Helen.
