The Life of Charles Joseph Louviere

LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 29, 2005, at a Mass of Christian Burial at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist for Charles J. Louviere, 64, who died at 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, 2005, in Lafayette General Medical Center. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Mausoleum.The Rev. Millard G. Boyer, Chaplin of Lafayette General Medical Center will be the celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Readers will be Amanda Johnson and Nicole Guidry. Eulogist will be Donna Wehbe. Giftbearers will be Niki Mouisset and James Guidry. Charlotte Colomb and Lauren Johnson, soloists, accompanied on the organ by Tom Niel, will sing for the funeral service, "Ave Maria", "Amazing Grace", "How Great Thou Art" and "On Eagles'' Wings".Survivors include his loving wife of 32 years, Camille Trappey Louviere, of Lafayette; one son, Rene Louviere; four brothers, Ronald James Louviere and his wife, Imogene, Claude Alfred "Al" Louviere and his wife, Cathy, Johnny Louviere and his wife, Marlene and Pete Louviere and his wife, Linda; many nieces and nephews, and also his three dogs, Braxton, Fritz and Rosco.He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Bernice Fontenot Louviere Sr.A native of Welsh and a resident of Lafayette for most of his life, Mr. Louviere was a veteran of military service having served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. Mr. Louviere was employed as an automobile salesman at Moss Motors. He was known for his kindness and loved by all those who knew him. Mr. Louviere was a member of the Cathedral of St. John The Evangelist Catholic Community.A rosary will be prayed by Grace Huval at 6 p.m. today in the Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette.The family requests visiting hours be observed from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. today and will continue from 8 a.m. Monday until time of the funeral Mass.Pallbearers will be Tom Louviere, Troy Louviere, Shane Louviere and Stephen Louviere, Todd Trappey, and Jeremy Johnson.Honorary pallbearers will be his four brothers and Eugene Bergeaux, Louis "T Boy" Gilbert, nieces and nephews, Cobb Brothers, Mike LeBlanc, Ellis Trappey Jr., Morris LeBlanc, Albert Wehbe and the group at Brother John''s.The family would like to acknowledge and thank Sharon Moss with Moss Motors for all the kindness and thoughtfulness she gave Charles during his time of sickness.Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Louviere''s name to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston Street, Suite 200, Lafayette, LA 70503, St. Jude Children''s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, Carmalite Monastery, 1250 Carmel Drive, Lafayette, LA 70501 and American Heart Association, 312 Guilbeau Road, Suite 6C, Lafayette, LA 70506.   Arrangements have been entrusted to Martin & Castille Funeral Home, Inc. of Lafayette 337-234-2311.
