The Life of Sherran Ann Cline

On June 14, 2006, Sherran Ann LeBlanc Cline passed away surrounded by her family after a 24-year battle with cancer. A native of Lafayette, Sherran was born on November 24, 1945 and has lived in Robert’s Cove for the past 30 years. She was a graduate of Our Lady of Fatima High School and the University of Southwestern Louisiana where she was a member of Kappa Delta sorority. Sherran was a lady whose character epitomized faith, courage, patience, strength, and grace. Each and every person she came into contact with was inspired by her bravery. Her life was a testament to her unrelenting faith and perseverance to all who knew her. Her eloquence, kind spirit, compassion and gentle ways will be missed, but we will all be at peace knowing that she is returning home to be greeted by her beautiful angels Shane and Todd. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Robert “Roddy” Cline, her three beloved children, Paige Jenee Cline of New Orleans, Parrish Ladd Cline and wife Courtney of Lafayette, and Christian Shaye Cline of Boulder, Colorado, her father, Gaston LeBlanc and wife Edwina of Lafayette, her twin brother, Shelton Jude LeBlanc and his wife Jeannette, of Lake Charles, her two sisters and brother-in-laws, Debbie and Terry Champagne of Breaux Bridge, and Joyce and Bobby Prince of Lafayette and her special sister-in-law and caretaker Madge Cline Sharkey, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, Shane Scott and Todd Thomas Cline, her mother, Alice Joyce Broussard LeBlanc, and her mother-in law, Martha Lee Carmichael. Sherran was an active member of St. Leo IV Catholic Church in Robert’s Cove where she was a homebound Eucharistic minister. She was a member of St. Leo’s Ladies Alter Society and the Assumption of the Blessed Mother Rosary Group. She was a dedicated and loyal member of Bayou Girl Scouts, serving as a troop leader for many years. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and an officer of both the Robert’s Cove Volunteer Family and Community Association. Additionally, Sherran participated in the Acadia Parish VFC Council and was an active volunteer at Rayne Catholic Elementary School. Her family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to all of Sherran’s magnificent friends, doctors, nurses, and caregivers from all walks of life that stayed so close and provided such comfort and care during this difficult time. You are all so very special to her. The names are far too many to list. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 16, 2006 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Fr. Gary Schexnayder will be the celebrant of the mass, followed by the eulogy and words of encouragement by Reverend Perry Sanders, a personal friend. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of services. Musical selections will be provided by Ramona Carmichael. The family requests visiting hours from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 7:00 PM on Thursday, June 15, 2006 at Delhomme Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at Lafayette Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Ted Carmichael, Terry Champagne, Brett Champagne, Kyle Champagne, Kenny Cline, Justin LeBlanc, Bobby Prince, Michael Paul Crocket. Readers will be Sherran’s nieces, Lauren, Courtney, and Katie Prince. The gift bearers will be her lifelong friend, Jean Butaud, her sisters, Debbie Champagne, Joyce Prince, and sister-in- law Madge Sharkey. The Eucharistic Ministers will be her faithful neighbor, Josie Thevis, and her daughter, Christian Cline.
