The Life of Savannah Mae Benoit

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in Monastery of Mary, Mother of Grace in Lafayette, for Savannah Mae Falcon Benoit, 64, who passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2008 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park.Reverend John De Leeuw, Retired, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Giftbearers will be her grandchildren, Brooke Benoit, Blaine Trahan, Sara Turpen, Emily Turpen, Maddux Benoit and Griffin Benoit. Lector will be her husband, Pat Benoit. Music will be provided by the Carmelite Sisters.Survivors include her beloved husband, Patrick "Pat" Benoit of Lafayette; two daughters, Jennifer Trahan and her husband Curtis and Jodi Turpen and her husband Richard, both of Carencro; one son, Jason Benoit and his wife Julie of Lafayette; six grandchildren, Brooke Benoit, Blaine Trahan, Sara Turpen, Emily Turpen, Maddux Benoit and Griffin Benoit; one great grandchild, Jaycee Roger; four sisters, Edna Cormier of Duson, Theresa Cormier and her husband Kerminth of Mire, Barbara Breaux of Scott and Shirline Hall of Columbus, Georgia; and one brother, George Falcon, Jr. and his wife Waldine of Yakum, Texas.She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Bernice Credeur Falcon, Sr.Born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana, Savannah Benoit enjoyed giving of herself by volunteering at the public library and Sts. Leo-Seton Catholic School and visiting local nursing homes. She loved working in her yard, walking for exercise and cooking with her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Savannah Benoit will be dearly missed by all who knew her.Pallbearers will be Jason Benoit, Richard Turpen, Curtis Trahan, Blaine Trahan, Thomas Benoit and John Benoit.A Rosary will be prayed by Pat Benoit on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home. The family requests that visitation be observed on Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM and on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until time of service.
