The Life of Verna Mae Dupin

Verna Mae Dupuis Dupin, devoted mother and grandmother, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2008 at the age of 99. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the graveside service at Lafayette Memorial Park, 2111 Pinhook Road, Saturday at 11:30 AM. Reverend Keith Derouen, Pastor of the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist Church, will conduct the graveside service. The beloved wife of the late Harry Joseph Dupin, she will be fondly remembered by her surviving relatives: her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Charles Louis and Mrs. Diane Szostak Dupin, her two grandchildren, Michael Charles Dupin and Mary-Margaret Dupin Lhuilier, and her three great-grand children. She will also be warmly remembered by her niece, Joan Marie Llana and her three great-nieces, Donna Marie Germaine, Anne Elizabeth Llana and Mara Elena Posey, her three great-great-nephews and one great-great-niece, and many other friends and relatives. Mrs. Dupin, born on October 14, 1908 in Carencro, LA, was the daughter of Helen (nee Prejean) and Charles Dupuis and was the tenth of eleven children. She was a long-time resident of Lafayette, LA, before moving to Metairie, LA, where she resided for the past nine years. Mrs. Dupin was a warm and generous woman, devoted to her church and family, and will be sorely missed. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Francis Xavier Church Building Fund, or the charity of your choice, would be preferred. Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, La is in charge of funeral arrangements.
