The Life of Nancy Elleen Moreau

Funeral Services will be held at an 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, March 26, 2010 at St. Mary Church for Nancy McGill Moreau, 89, who passed away on March 20, 2010 at 6:15 pm at Cornerstone Village South. Reverend Harold Trahan, Pastor of St. Mary Church , will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Holy Mary Mother of God Cemetery. Mrs. Moreau, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the daughter of the late Ira Lucius McGill of Anderson County, South Carolina and the former Frances Gaines of Elbert County, Georgia. She was a member of St. Mary Church and of the St. Mary Altar Society. She graduated from Greenville General Hospital School of Nursing in 1944. She was employed as an RN in many states during her husband''s tour of duty in the United States Air Force. She worked in Lafayette, Louisiana as an RN in Public Health, transitioning into a Public Health Coordinator from 1975 to her retirement in 1990. She was a volunteer at Lafayette General Medical Center. She is survived by three daughters, Sandra Lee Moreau Aguillard and husband Clark of Lafayette, Patricia Lynn Moreau Redmond and husband Don of Alexandria, Egypt, and Catherine Anne Moreau Taylor and husband Alex of Grand Coteau; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and one brother Clarence Lucius "Pete" McGill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Charles Moreau; her parents, one brother, James William McGill; and four sisters, Macy Irene McGill Bryant, Emma Lucille McGill Crisp, Eula Lee McGill Hall, and Laura Jean McGill. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Thursday, March 25, 2010 from 12:00 pm until 9:00 pm and on Friday from 8:00 am until the time of service. A rosary will be recited Thursday evening at 7:00 pm in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Clark Joseph Aguillard, Donald Charles Redmond, Alex Taylor, Jr., Bryan Paul Aguillard, Andrew James Redmond, William Hubert Crisp, and Michael Wayne Broussard. Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
