The Life of Marjorie Wagner Langlinais

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Jules Catholic Church for Marjorie B. Langlinais, age 93, the former, Marjorie Bourgeois, who died Monday, September 26, 2005 at 1:20 AM in Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.     Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.     Very Reverend Monsignor J. Douglas Courville, JCL, Pastor of St. Jules Catholic Church will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the Funeral Services. Adam Conque, organist, will sing, On Eagles'''' Wings, Ave Maria, Amazing Grace,Be Not Afraid and Prayer of St. Francis.      Survivors include her only child and son-in-law, Margaret Wagner Carter Morris and Steve Morris of Baton Rouge; two grandchildren, Stephanie C. Robinson and her husband, James Robinson and Douglas E. Carter, both of Walker; four great grandchildren, Chad Crochet, Bailey Robinson, Kaleigh Carter and Zack Robinson; two sisters, Dorothy Knobloch of Baton Rouge and Gloria B. LaBorde of Birmingham, Alabama and one brother, Alex Bourgeois of Baton Rouge.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred E. Wagner and her second husband, Theo A. Langlinais; parents, Alex Bourgeois Sr. and Eva Marchand Bourgeois and one brother, James Bourgeois.      A native of Darrow, Louisiana and a resident of Lafayette since 1951, Mrs. Langlinais was a member of the St. Jules Catholic Community.  A devout Catholic, she was active until the last week of her life.  Mrs. Langlinais lived a wonderful full life.      She graduated from Our Lady of the Lake Nursing School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1933.  Mrs. Langlinais first worked as a registered nurse at Our Lady of the Lake, and she then went on to finish her career at Our Lady of Lourdes in Lafayette.        A Rosary will be prayed Tuesday at 6:30 PM in the Martin & Castille Funeral Home.      The family requests that visiting hours be observed Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time of Funeral  Services.       The family would like to thank Drs. John Bernard, Joseph Brierre, Daniel Carroll, Michael Alexander, John Mickey and Jeff Budden who helped her to live independently and treated this remarkable woman with respect and compassion.  Also to Hospice Drs. Hoffpauir and Menard, who took care of her as well as us in the last week of her life.  A very special thanks to RN''''s Amy and Becky in MICU and to the exceptional oncology staff at Our Lady of Lourdes.  Especially to RN''''s Shannon, Susan, Tim, and Charlotte.  We will always be grateful to all of you for treating her as if she were your own mother or grandmother.  An enormous amount of thanks to Marcelle Langlinais and Penny Langlinais for helping in so many ways.       In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Langlinais'''' name to the Lourdes Foundation or Our Lady of the Lake Foundation.       Pallbearers are Edward S. Morris, Chad Crochet, James Robinson , Jim Iler, Robert Langlinais, Tim Langlinais and Doug Carter.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Martin & Castille Funeral Home, Inc. of Lafayette.337-234-2311
