The Life of Emmet J Arboneaux Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 16, 2007, at an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for Emmet Joseph Arboneaux, Jr., who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 14, 2007, at his residence in Jennings, Louisiana.Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park.Monsignor J. Douglas Courville, JCL, Pastor of St. Jules Catholic Church in Lafayette, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass. "Ave Maria", "On Eagle''s Wings", "Be Not Afraid" and "Take My Hand Precious Lord" will be sung for the services. Survivors include his second wife, Josie K. Arboneaux; four daughters, Debra Lyon and her husband Kenneth, Karen Jones and her husband Conrad, Claire Shaw and her husband Danny and Ann Dupre and her husband Earl; one son, Emmet J. Arboneaux, III and his wife Lyn; three step sons, Steven Guidry, David Guidry and Mark Guidry; one sister, Della Crawford; one brother Sterling Arboneaux; thirteen grandchildren, Larry Melancon, Mary Inacio, Derek Abshire, Kimberly Lyon, Christopher Lyon, Tina B. Richard, Jeremy Shaw, Jacob Shaw, Steve Forehand, Tyler Dupre, Christy Arboneaux, Byran Arboneaux and Eric Arboneaux; two great grandchildren, Anthony Richard and Sloane Elizabeth Inacio; and three step grandchildren, Nicole, Tara and Josie Ray.He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmet and Marie Ayo Arboneaux; one daughter, Sybil Thompson; one sister, Phyllis Carlos; one grandchild, Julia K. Meche; one great grandchild, Baby Manuel; his first wife, Mary Anne Arboneaux; and his third wife, Betty F. Arboneaux.A native of Franklin and a resident of Lafayette for most of his life, Emmet Arboneaux, Jr. proudly served his country in both the United States Army and Navy in the latter part of WWII with the 48th Field Artillery Battalion located at Camp Beale, California. After serving, he worked out of Lafayette in the oil field. He enjoyed, fishing and spending time with his children, grandchildren and all his family and friends. Mr. Arboneaux will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.Pallbearers will be his beloved grandchildren.A Rosary will be prayed Thursday, November 15, 2007 at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home. The family requests that visitation be observed on Thursday from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM and on Friday from 8:00 AM until time of services at Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
