The Life of Lillian Ruth Berger

Lillian Ruth (Stauffer) Berger, 87, of Richmond Township, went to Heaven on Monday morning, August 27, 2018 at The Lutheran Home at Topton where she received loving care. Lillian's family is sincerely grateful for the dedicated care shown to Lillian by the staff of The Lutheran Home and Lehigh Valley Hospice. Born on July 1,1931 in Richmond Township, she was a daughter of the late Augustus F. and Evada (Berk) Stauffer. Lillian was the widow of Ralph H. Berger, and they were happily married an incredible 63 years until his passing on May 7, 2013.

She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Kutztown, and was a graduate of Kutztown Area High School, class of 1949. Lillian was an excellent cook and baker and loved preparing meals for her family. She treasured spending time with her grandchildren and loved to laugh. Lillian will be greatly missed but will always be in our hearts.

Lillian is survived by her three children,  Michael L., husband of Diane M. (Hauck) Berger, Fleetwood, PA, Gloria A. (Berger), wife of James D. Howe, Oley, PA, and Patrick M., husband of Cara (Broughton) Berger, Manassas, VA. She was the beloved grandmother of James J. Howe and his wife, Tanya, Mount Pleasant Mills, PA, Amelia A. Howe, Wilmington, DE, Annie F. Berger and Charlie V. Berger, Manassas, VA. Lillian also had one great-granddaughter, Janae Lillian Howe, whom she loved dearly.

She is also survived by a loving sister, Arline G. (Stauffer) Dietrich, Kutztown, PA. In addition to her husband and parents, Lillian was predeceased by three sisters, Mary Stauffer, Eleanor Wanner and Annabelle Levan; and two brothers, Fred Kemmerer and Sam Kemmerer.

As per Lillian's request, funeral services to celebrate her life and burial in Fairview Cemetery, Kutztown, will be private at the convenience of the family.

Mom you are now a guardian angel in Heaven with Dad so you can both watch over our family. I miss you both but will treasure the special memories and will carry both of you in my heart forever.  You did good. Rest In Peace. I love you ❤️
