The Life of Elizabeth M. Beitler

Elizabeth M. (Lohrman) Beitler, 88, of Topton, died peacefully, Sunday, July 8, 2018, in Lehigh Center, Lower Macungie Township, surrounded by her loving family.  She was the widow of Richard E. Beitler, Sr., who died April 1, 2008.  Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Edwin F. D. and Clarabelle (Kagen) Lohrman.  Mrs. Beitler was a member of Saint Peter's Union Church, Macungie, where she previously served as a member of Consistory. Elizabeth worked over 30 years as a folder and packer at the former Royal Manufacturing Company, Alburtis, until her retirement in 1986.  Family was first and foremost in Elizabeth's life.  Everything she did focused on her family.

Elizabeth is survived by daughters: Jacqueline A. (Beitler), wife of Darrell L. Geist, Topton; MaryEllen (Beitler), wife of Russell F. Adam, Jr., Jacksonville, Fla.; Virginia C. (Christman), wife of Rodney Gernert, Kutztown; Jean L. (Christman), widow of Charles Long, Shoemakersville; sons: Richard E., Jr., husband of Patricia A. (Ziegenfuss) Beitler, Mertztown and Wayne R., husband of Debra A. (Sell) Beitler, Alburtis.  Other survivors include 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.  Elizabeth was predeceased by sisters, Eva (Lohrman) Cressman and Ethel (Lohrman) Kline; and a brother, Edwin Lohrman.

Funeral services to celebrate Elizabeth's life will be held Thursday, July 12, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Peter's Union Church, 7863 St. Peter's Road, Macungie, with Reverend Jerel W. Gade, officiating.  Interment in Saint Peter's Church Cemetery, Macungie.  Relatives and friends may call Thursday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. in the church.

Saying goodbye

I can’t pick one story, but grandma was the ultimate story teller. She always exaggerated, always bragged about her family and always claimed the candy in the House was for the grandkids, but we knew the truth.
