The best

Jackie was an amazing Mother-in-law, friend, teacher. She taught me how to be a good mother to my children, allowing them to do fun things to grow and learn. She was an amazing cook and encouraged her grandchildren to help at the stove, and of course at the sink washing dishes. Jackie played bingo with the best and watched my cards as well as hers. Our family Canada trips were always great...fishing, cooking, relaxing on the beach and boat. The more family the merrier! And she rarely missed a ballgame, Bart's or Zac and Jake's. She was their loudest cheerleader. I miss knowing she was watching over the family here on earth and comforted knowing she will be with Glen watching over all of us from above.

My Greatest Teacher❣️

My favorite memories of my mother were, when we worked side by side at the wonderful Glockenspiel Restaurant. I worked with her for about 5 years. What she didn't teach me there, she taught me at home in the kitchen. When I didn't get it in the kitchen, she resorted to her yardstick chasing me through the house.😂 That all stopped when I learned to respect my mother. My mother also taught me how to be a mother. That lesson never stopped. I'm still learning how to be a mother, but I lost my greatest teacher. Sadly, I will miss my mother, but she won't be far away. She will always be in my heart. I was blessed to love her so deeply.❤️

The Best Mimi

I'll never forget the good times visiting Mimi and Pop pop's house. It would usually start with my uncle Bart throwing me in the pool fully clothed as soon as we would arrive. Some great memories with Mimi include summertime BBQ's, Oyster boils, card games at her kitchen table, anything she cooked was amazing, fishing with her and Pop on their boat. Her family was her life and I feel very fortunate to be a part of it. I'll miss our talks and just hanging out. She was always so sweet to me and full of love. She was the best Mimi anyone could ask for.

Neighbor

growing up living next door to Jackie I was only maybe 7 years old and I would see Jackie always going for a dip in her pool in the back yard and as a kid I just thought she was just the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. She was classy, funny, hard worker and great Mom and Wife. she loved her family. I remember after her cancer surgery I went to visit she she reminded me that you gotta be Tough in this life. Fast forward to July 2017 I saw her and Lori at Boscovs and I told her about my 7 month illness and again she reminded me that you have to be tough in this life. Jackie was a gift to the community of Lyons, always helpful to her parents she wore many hats in this world. I suspect she will take charge and wear many hats in Heaven. I will always have only fond memories of you Ms Jackie....may you fly with the other wings and I know you will keep a close eye on your family. I would say RIP but I know you, you will be busy helping anywhere and everyone you can. With eternal love and admiration Stephanie Madeira Schaeffer

The Best

There’s so much to talk about, but I don’t even know where to begin. I’ll never forget Mimi and Pop Pop sitting on the sidelines of our ballgames. Every game she would call me over before going up for my first at bat and she would give a pack of Reese’s cups and Pop would tell me to hit the ball somewhere for five bucks. This was followed be her yelling at the umpire for calling a strike on me. She made the best food, scavenger hunts, and little games for the holidays. The best memories are the moments I got to be apart of with her and Maia. They were buddies and it just warmed my heart seeing them together. We’re going to miss you, Mimi. Watch over all of us!

Summer days

There was nothing like a family picnic on a summer day in Mimi’s backyard. The games of ring toss, clam bakes and corn on the cob, swimming, card games, and catching lightening bugs into the night. Her home, a haven for so many cherished memories filled with warmth, love, and life. I’m grateful for the moments, both large and small, that we shared together.

Grateful

My deepest sympathy goes out to all of Jackie's family, whom I am grateful to have a connection through Bart and (my niece), Erin. I will always remember Jackie's sweet smile and beautiful nature.
