The Life of Shirley Domingue
Funeral
services will be held on Thursday August 24, 2017 at 1PM in La Chapelle
de Martin & Castille in Lafayette for Shirley C. Domingue , age 81,
who died at 6:25 PM on Sunday, August 20, 2017 in Camelot of Rayne.
Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park.
Survivors include her daughter, Donna Domingue of Lafayette; one son, Dan Domingue, Jr. of Youngsville; two granddaughters, Morgan Domingue and Sarah Domingue; a sister in law, Verna Chris and her three beloved cats Fritz, Carey, and Tux.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William F. Chris and the former Bertha O''Dowd; one son Patrick J. Domingue; six brothers William Chris, Charles Chris, George Chris, John Chris, Earl Chris, and Robert Chris; two sisters Dorothy Chris Jacques and Bertha Chris Touchet; her ex-husband Daniel Domingue Sr.
Shirley was a lifelong resident of the Lafayette area. She was a member of the 1955 graduating class of Lafayette High School. She worked with Hamilton Medical Group, Lafayette General, Our Lady of Lourdes, Women''s and Children''s, and Apria Health Care during her career in medical billing. After her retirement, she found her true calling as a devoted and loving grandmother to Morgan and Sarah. Shirley loved to travel and shop. She was always on the go! She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Pallbearers will be John LeBlanc, Dale LeBlanc, Eric Glass, Matt Glass, Luther Glass and Michael Richard.
The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille''s DOWNTOWN location on Wednesday from 5 PM to 9 PM and on Thursday from 8 AM until time of service.
A Rosary will be prayed on Wednesday at 6:30 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions can be made in Shirley''s name to The American Diabetes Association, 2424 Edenborn Ave, Metairie, LA 70001.
A heartfelt appreciation is extended by the Domingue family to her primary care doctor, Dr. Melanie Mier and her nurse Kristy. They would also like to thank Dr. Smyth and his staff at the Our Lady of Lourdes Wound Care Center. Special thanks also to the staff at Camelot Place in Rayne.
