The Life of Melba Jane Broussard
Funeral
services will be held on Monday, July 31, 2017 at a 10:30 AM Mass of
Christian Burial at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lafayette for Melba
Jane Broussard, age 77, who died on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at St.
Joseph Hospice Carpenter House.
Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Reverend Howard Blessing, Pastor of Holy Cross Catholic Church will conduct the funeral services.
Survivors include her three sons, Robert Guidry and wife Sheila, Richard Guidry and Dennis Broussard; three daughters, Brenda Desormeaux and husband Donald, Dianna Schleicher and husband Burdell and Angela Broussard; eleven grandchildren, Trista J.Broussard, Richard Jr., Adam, Alysse and Samantha Guidry, Michael Chandler, Derek, Colby and Brock Desormeaux, Holly and Steven Comeaux and many great grandchildren; four brothers, Alvoid Steiner and wife Elise, Oran Steiner and wife Verna, Raymond Steiner and wife Loraine, Paul Steiner and wife Mildred; two sisters, Mary Ann Mire and husband Rodney, Barbara Degyter and husband Ricky; a brother in law, Pearlise Breaux and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claudius Broussard; her father and mother, Christian J. Steiner and Gladys Roy Steiner; one son, Stanley J. Comeaux; one grandchild, Christian J. Desormeaux; one brother, Stanley J. Steiner; one sister, Alberta Breaux and one great grandchild.
Melba Jane Steiner Broussard was born on March 30, 1940 and was a lifelong resident of Lafayette Parish. She was a devout member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. Mrs. Broussard was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Trista Broussard, Angela Broussard, Dennis Broussard, Adam Guidry, Colby Desormeaux, Donald Desormeaux, Timothy Nolan and Terry Barilleaux Sr.
The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille''s SOUTHSIDE location on Sunday from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM and on Monday from 8:00 AM until time of service.
A Rosary will be prayed Sunday at 6:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home by Brady LeBlanc.
