The Life of Mr. Matteo Anthony Duffy Sr.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at a 10:30 AM
Mass in St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Lafayette for Matt Duffy,
Sr., 73, who died Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Heart Hospital of
Lafayette.
Burial will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery on Pinhook Road.
Reverend David Hebert, Pastor of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass. Karen Broussard, organist, accompanied by Jude Chiasson, vocalist, will sing for the services.
He leaves to cherish his memory, beloved wife, Geraldine Kibodeaux Duffy; two daughters, Laurie Duffy and Stephanie MacPherson and her husband, Michael; three sons, Matt Duffy, Jr. and his wife, Glenda, Conan Duffy, and Timothy Daigle and his wife, Nova; six grandchildren, Kai Duffy, Jacob and Joseph Duffy, Gary Michael MacPherson, Alexson Daigle and Ben Daigle; and two great-grandchildren, Nevaeh MacPherson and Makensie MacPherson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Duffy and Wanita Van Mannen; and one son, Leonard Daigle.
Matt was a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and a resident of Lafayette for most of his life. He was a Veteran of military service, proudly serving his country in the United States Army National Guard. Mr. Duffy worked in the oil & gas industry for many years. He enjoyed woodworking and arts and crafts projects with his granddaughters. He cherished his family and friends and will be sadly missed by all.
Pallbearers will be Timothy Daigle, Ben Daigle, Alexson Daigle, Mike MacPherson, and Andy Naquin. Honoray pallbearer will be Anthony Torez.
Visitation will be observed on Friday from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM in Martin & Castille''s DOWNTOWN Location. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of services.
