We lived a few doors down from Dorothy when my girls were only a few years old and I always had wash on the line. One day a storm was brewing when we weren't home. Without our knowing, Dorothy was kind enough to come down and take my wash off the line before the storm blew through. A heartfelt act of kindness from our neighbor and friend. Thank you Dorothy. I'll miss you.

Dorothy and I were members of the high school faculty at Muhlenberg High School. She was the most conscientious person that I have ever known. She devoted herself to her students and her Home Economics Suite at the high school and went far beyond what her job required. It was a privilege to have known her and to have worked with her.

Remembering a special teacher...........

I just found out that Miss Boyer passed away earlier this year. She was my home ec teacher for three years in the 1970's and my mentor. Miss Boyer knew my goal was to become a home ec teacher myself, so she provided me with a lot of opportunities to grow as a student and prepare for college and my subsequent career. We kept in touch throughout the years and Miss Boyer always talked about the special sewing and needlework projects she was working on - just as she had when I was in her sewing class. She taught me so much and I will be forever grateful to her.
