The Life of Arlene A Peiffer

Arlene A. (Kocher) Peiffer, born December 22, 1918, lived a wonderful life of 98 years. She was a long-time resident of The Lutheran Home at Topton community and entered into Heaven on Monday, June 12, 2017 in The Henry Health Care Center at The Lutheran Home, where the staff not only cared for her daily needs but loved her like family. She was loving wife of the late Charles W. Peiffer, who died on June 24, 1988.

Born in Weisenberg Township, Lehigh County, Arlene was a daughter of the late Sylvester J. and Ella S. (Reinert) Kocher. She was a former member of Jerusalem (Red) United Church of Christ, Kempton, where she was active on several committees and activity groups, including making her famous Apple Dumplings for the annual Gospel Sing Weekend at the Kempton Community Center. Arlene was a devoted mother and grandmother who always took great care of her family. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked at the former Mrs. Stump's Bakery, Kempton, and a local sewing factory prior to her retirement. Arlene loved to bake. Her delicious treats were always a delight, especially at Christmas time. Arlene also enjoyed gardening, flowers, crocheting and quilting; making many hand-made gifts for her entire family, and her friends.

Arlene is survived by her three Children, Janice M. (Peiffer) Trumbauer, companion of Warren O. Reinhart, Topton, Dennis C. Peiffer, Amado, AZ; and Dolores M. (Peiffer), wife of Dean Davis, Reading; 10 Grandchildren and 19 Great-Grandchildren. She was predeceased by her Husband; Parents; a Son, Donald C. Peiffer, husband of Shirley of Lenhartsville, in 2014, a Grandson, Ronald "Butch" Trumbauer in 2012; 3 Brothers, Warren, Elmer and Earl Kocher, and a Sister, Mabel Grim.

A celebration of life funeral service for Arlene will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at 10:30 AM in Grace Lutheran Church (Henry Auditorium), located on the campus at The Lutheran Home at Topton, 1 South Home Avenue, Topton, PA, with Reverend Carl R. Schmoyer, officiating. Interment will follow in Ziegel's Church Union Cemetery, Breinigsville. Relatives and friends may call on Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the church.

The family requests that contributions be made in Arlene's memory to Jerusalem (Red) Church, 15 Red Church Road, Kempton, PA  19529. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
