The Life of Bertye E Evans
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at St.
Genevieve Catholic Church for Bertye Evans with Fr. Kenneth Domingue
officiating.
The family will receive visitors beginning at 9:00 AM on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at St. Genevieve Catholic Church.
Burial will be immediately following the service at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Bertye Evans born to Preston McNeely and the former Antonia Segura on November 4, 1939 in DeRidder, Louisiana and was a lifelong resident of New Iberia, Louisiana. Bertye passed away on May 28, 2017 at 3:19 AM at her residence.
Bertye, was a retired school teacher from Iberia Parish. She will be remembered as kind, giving and loyal, and for her love of family.
She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her.
Beryte Evans is survived by three grandchildren, Megan Lueck, Neely and Jack Evans of Lafayette; daughter in law Lindsy Evans of Lafayette; three nieces; Kelly Domingue and husband David of Lafayette, Stephanie Robichaux and husband, Mark of New Iberia and Kathryn McNeely of Lafayette.
Bertye was preceded in death by her husband, Jack W. Evans; son, Christopher Roan Evans; parents, Preston McNeely, Sr. and the former Antonia Segura and her brother, Preston D. McNeely.
