The Life of Elmer E Snow

Elmer E. Snow, 95, of Topton, formerly of West Caldwell, NJ, died peacefully on Saturday, April 29, 2017, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Jean C. (Schille) Snow, whom he married December 21, 1944.

Born in Arlington, Mass., he was a son of the late Elmer E. and Ada I. (Stevens) Snow. Mr. Snow was Presbyterian. Elmer bravely served his country during World War II, as a member of the Army Air Corps in the 8th Air Force, flying 35 missions over Nazi Germany as a B-17 top-turret gunner and flight engineer. Mr. Snow was a manufacturing engineer at Resistoflex Corporation, Roseland, NJ, for 26 years, until his retirement in 1987. Mr. Snow was a member of the 385th Bomb Group Association.

In addition to his Wife of 72 years, Jean C. (Schille) Snow, Topton, Elmer is survived by a Daughter, Carol A. (Snow), wife of Roy W. Rogers, Youngstown, NY; and a Son, Craig E., husband of Mary (Patti) Snow, Hampden, Maine. Other survivors include a Half Sister, Mary Lou, Atlanta, GA; 6 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren. Elmer was predeceased by his Parents, and a Brother, Richard Snow.

Memorial services for Elmer will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at 2:00 PM in Deibert Hall, located on the campus of The Lutheran Home at Topton, One South Home Avenue, Topton.  Inurnment, with military honors provided by the United States Air Force Honor Guard, will follow in Topton Union Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Saturday, May 13, from 1:30 to 2:00 PM in Deibert Hall.

The family requests that contributions be made in Elmer’s memory to The Brandywine Community Library, 60 Tower Drive, Topton, PA  19562. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
