The Life of Eleanor R Leimbach

Eleanor R. (Brown) Leimbach, 92, of Kutztown, died on Saturday, April 22, 2017 in The Lutheran Home at Topton. She was the widow of Paul Leimbach, who died on August 5, 2014.

Born in Kutztown on January 29, 1925, Eleanor was a daughter of the late Raymond F. and Minnie M. (Moyer) Brown. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Kutztown. She was a 1942 graduate of Kutztown Area High School and a graduate of the McCann School of Business, Reading. She was employed by Kutztown University as an Administrative Assistant to the President, having worked for Dr. Beekey, Dr. DeFrancesco, and Dr. Stratton. She retired in 1984 after thirty years. A family-oriented lady, Eleanor enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Eleanor is survived by her Son, Roger A. Leimbach, husband of Margaret L. McHale, North Wales, PA; 2 Grandchildren, Edward A. Leimbach and Elizabeth J. Leimbach, both of New York City, NY; and a Great Grandson, Kieran Leimbach. She was predeceased by her Husband; Parents, and a Sister, Ethel Virginia Brown.

A memorial service to celebrate Eleanor’s life will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 11:00 AM in St. John’s Lutheran Church, 201 East Main Street, Kutztown, with her Pastor, Reverend Mary Ann Hamm, officiating.  Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown. Relatives and friends may call on Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the church.

The family requests that contributions be made in Eleanor’s memory to St. John’s Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 201 East Main Street, Kutztown, PA  19530. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.

Eleanor was always positive! She loved life and was very proud of her son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren! I always enjoyed talking with her and she will be missed by my entire family! My thoughts and prayers go out to Eleanor's family during this difficult time! Love, Keith
