The Life of Marlin D Keller

Marlin D. Keller, 67, of Fleetwood, died on Friday, April 14, 2017, in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading. He was the loving husband of Sylvia D. (Merkel) Keller, whom he married August 26, 1973.

Born in York, York County, he was a son of the late Irene M. Keller. Mr. Keller was a member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church, Krumsville. A life-long truck driver Marlin was known as "Big Blue" in the industry. Although school was a challenge, one of his greatest accomplishments was working toward and receiving his Commercial Drivers Licence. Marlin received several awards throughout the years for safe driving, having worked for Jesse Kroninger Trucking, Dryville; Eastern Industries; Agway; Alfred Knabb, Redners Warehouse, Golf View Farms, and last worked for National Freight, Allentown, until his retirement in 2011. His favorite employer by far was Carlos R. Leffler Inc. working from 1992-2004. While working there as a transport truck driver, driving instructor, and dispatcher, he had the utmost respect for Mr. Leffler (affectionately known by Marlin as "The Old Man"). After retirement, he spent his time enjoying some of his favorite TV shows, surfing the web for lawn and garden tractors, and playing solitaire.

In addition to his Wife of 43 years, Sylvia, Marlin is survived by his two Children, Mathew D., husband of Katie S. (Roth) Keller, Hamburg; and Shalan D. Keller, fiance of David L. Kupp, Jr., Fleetwood. Other survivors include 2 Grandchildren, Dawn V. Gibson and Alexis N. Trate, and his Mother-in-law Annetta W. (Snyder) Merkel, Temple.

Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service for Marlin on Thursday morning, April 20, 2017 at 11:00 AM in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with Reverend Dr. Dennis S. Ritter, officiating. A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening, April 19, 2017 from 6:30 to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM both in the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in New Bethel Zion Cemetery, Krumsville.
