The Life of Robert N Shade

Robert N. Shade, 79, formerly of Kutztown, died Friday, April 14, 2017 in The Lutheran Home at Topton, where he was a resident since July 2012.  He was the husband of Dorothy M. (Muth) Shade, also a resident of The Lutheran Home at Topton, whom he married on March 18, 1967.

Born in Kutztown, he was a son of the late Robert F. and Emily F. (Dey) Shade. Mr. Shade was a 1958 graduate of Kutztown Area High School and a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Kutztown. Robert was employed as a cabinet maker for Quaker Maid Kitchens, Leesport, until his retirement in 1988.

In addition to his Wife of 50 years, Dorothy, Robert is survived by a Son, James C., husband of Erin S. (DeLong) Goldman, Maidencreek Township; a Daughter, Robin N. (Shade), wife of Eric W. Montgomery, Lower Macungie Township, and 2 Granddaughters, Sarina M. and Kara M. Montgomery.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 10:30 AM from St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 47 South Whiteoak Street, Kutztown, with Reverend John M. Davies, officiating. Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the church.

The family requests contributions be made in Robert’s memory to the Alzheimer's Disease Association, 237 Court Street, Reading, PA 19601. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
