The Life of Ruth Ann Murphey

Ruth Ann (Mim) Murphey passed peacefully into the Hands of God Friday morning, April 7th, in her home in Kingwood, TX. She was born in Franklin, LA to Beulah and William (Willie) Landry both preceding her in death. She was married to Lascom E. (Tiny) Murphey, Jr. in 1950 and they resided in Franklin, Grand Isle and then Lafayette for 45 years with Tiny preceding her death in April of 2014.
Ruth Ann’s two brothers, Howard and Allen Landry and her daughter Jan Elizabeth Guilbeau also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her two sons, Lascom E. (Ted) Murphey, III and his wife Joanne Drew and William Tod Murphey and his wife Gail Guykens. Also surviving her is seven grandchildren; Jamie, Kyle and Brett Murphey; Kristen Caldwell, Kelly Cooper, Kaitlin Murphey and Joel Guilbeau; along with 9 great-grandchildren.
Gone from this earth, but never from our hearts is our loving mother, grandmother and friend. She was loved and cherished by all who knew her.
Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers - Bertrand in Lafayette, LA on April 22, 2017 at 10:00am. Visitation will begin on Saturday at 8:30 am.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Ruth Ann’s favorite charity.

Arrangements are under the direction of Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, LA.
