The Life of Virgie Mary Trahan

DUSON ~ Memorial services will be held at a later date for Virgie Mary Trahan, age 81, the former Virgie Mary Smith, who passed away Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.

Survivors include three sons, Antoine Trahan and his wife, Kimberly, James Wayne Trahan and Wallace Trahan, Jr. all of Duson; five daughters, Linda Bourque and her husband, George, of Lafayette, Nordia Veronie and her husband, Phil, of Duson, Corrine Delcambre of Lafayette, Glenda Trahan of Scott and Judy Trahan of Duson; four sisters, Shirley S. Breaux of New Iberia, Barbara S. Guidry, Mary Ethel S. Bailey and Theresa S. Johnson all of Carencro; thirteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Trahan; one son, Lyndon Trahan; her parents, Clebert Smith and the former Monet Meche; one daughter, Eva Marie Trahan; two brothers, Ray and Rodrick Smith; and two grandchildren, Shelby Clark and Aaron Bourque.

Melancon Funeral Home of Carencro, 4615 North University Avenue, (337) 896-6366, is in charge of arrangements.
