The Life of Robert William Gaudet Sr.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Mr. Robert William Gaudet Sr., 76 who passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. Sam Brooks, Pastor of The Open Door, will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Bob Gaudet was a Christian, a devoted husband, a dedicated father, a loving grandfather, great-grandfather and a proud U.S. Marine. A native of Lake Charles LA, he lived a full and joyous life. As an active member of The Open Door in Lafayette, LA he was very involved with his brothers and sisters in Christ. Bob loved to fish and was a member of The Anglers of Christ fishing club. Professionally, Bob retired as Regional Manager at InventHelp Louisiana. Bob, who never met a stranger, was a great listener and always had advice for anyone who asked for it. Robert William Gaudet Sr. was, in fact, a true measure of a man.
He is survived by his loving wife Cyndi Gaudet; two daughters, Gina Michelle Winkler and husband Robert and Mary Christian Gaudet; five sons, Robert William Gaudet Jr., Robert Keith Gaudet and wife Tammy, William Patrick Gaudet and wife Mindy, Jeffery Winnfield Bigelow and wife Adrienne and Michael James Gaudet and wife Jennie; twenty-two grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one sister, Pamela Gaudet Gates and husband Glen and one brother, Tom Gaudet and wife Krinny.
He was preceded in death by his parents Oscar Richard Gaudet and Mary Joyce Moreaux Gaudet; sister, Lynda Gaudet Pritchett; one grandson, Sean Callaway; and one great granddaughter, Breelyn Esparza.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home on Monday, April 10 2017 from 3 P.M. until 9 P.M. and continue on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 8 A.M. until the time of service.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Hospice of Acadiana and The Open Door for their care, compassion and many acts of kindness.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Pritchett, Lee Shreve, Michael McFetridge III, Nick Esparza, Anthony Savee and Glen Gates. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rich Shreve, O.V. McNeil Jr. and Charles Miller.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to The Open Door building fund.
Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette LA is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
