The Life of Karen Marlee Fleming

Karen Marlee Clark Fleming passed away peacefully at the age of 70 on March 25, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers with inurnment to follow at Lafayette Memorial Park .

Born in Eunice, LA on December 17 1946, Karen would be the only child of J.O. ‘Bubba’ and Nell Clark. Karen would go on to marry her high school sweetheart, Glenn J. Fleming Sr., and spend 50 beautiful years with him and their four children, Glenn “Jay” Jr, Kevin, Jeff, and Elise.

She would spend her life devoted to her beloved family. Karen was proud of all her children and delighted in volunteering her time with PTA, all their sporting and after school activities, and was even a long-time member of the Blue Star Moms while her eldest was active in the military. She would later divide that attention to doting on her six grandchildren.

Karen had many talents and enjoyed sharing them with her friends and family. She was an avid baker, an incredible artist, and spent many years making incredibly intricately decorated Faberge style eggs. She was a lover of old movies and storytelling, especially of family history and her Mexican heritage.

Karen is proceeded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her four children, their spouses and her grandchildren Andrew, Alexander, Lola, Anthony, Hikari, and William Glenn.

Karen’s final wishes were simple, for her children to have nice families, be content, have prosperous lives, and to stay close to their families and be sentimental and happy.

The family request that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 2:00 pm until time of service.
