The Life of John Maibry Menard Sr.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at a 12:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anne Catholic Church in Youngsville, LA for Mr. John Maibry Menard, age 90, who died Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at his residence.

Entombment will be in the Lafayette Memorial Park Peace Chapel Mausoleum.

The Rev. Fr. Jason Mouton, Pastor, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the services. The Lector and Eulogist will be Mr. Kermit U. Duhon. Giftbearers will be his daughters, Molly Rose Hernandez and Pattie Marie Courcier.

Left to cherish his memory include his wife of sixty-six years, Flo Ella Duhon Menard of Youngsville, LA.;one son, John Maibry Menard, Jr. and his wife, Martha Conques Menard, of Lafayette, LA; two daughters, Molly Rose Hernandez and her husband, Gary, of Broussard, LA and Pattie Marie Courcier and her husband, Jimmy, of Youngsville, LA; ; nine grandchildren, Seth, Luke and Toby Menard, Leah Menard Trahan and Erin Menard Fabacher, David Hernandez, Kellie Hernandez Sheppert and Matthew Hernandez, and Alex Jaffurs; and eleven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Laurent and Olive Duhon Menard, and five brothers, Hayes, Murphy, Roy, Roland and Rodney Menard.

Mr. Menard was a native of Milton, LA and a resident of Lafayette then Youngsville, LA for forty-two years. He was a retired employee of Halliburton Company having been employed for thirty-two years.

Mr. Menard was drafted when he was 18 years old. He was a veteran of World War II where he served in the United States Navy-SeaBees as a MOMM 3rd Class. He was part of the Battle of Okinawa.

Mr. Menard enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, and working on motors. He attended the Milton School.

Visitation will be held in Martin & Castille''''s SOUTHSIDE location on Friday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of the services.

A Rosary will be prayed Friday at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Seth Menard, Luke Menard, Toby Menard, Matthew Hernandez, David Hernandez, Alex Jaffurs, Gary Hernandez and Jimmy Courcier.

Memorial contributions in Mr. Menard''''s name may be made to Heart of Hospice, 1100 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, LA 70506.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Mr. Menard''''s granddaughter, Leah Lelice Trahan RN and her mother, Martha Conques Menard RN, who both went above and beyond to assist with Mr. Menard''''s care during this difficult time.
