The Life of Roderick Joseph Vizinat

Mr. Roderick Joseph Vizinat, 83, was a native of Eunice and a resident of Lafayette since 1958, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at his residence. He was a graduate of Eunice High and attended Southeastern University and graduated in 1956. He taught and coached at Opelousas High. He worked for Equifax 22 years. Roderick also worked for the Lafayette School Board for 22 dedicated years before retiring. The love of the outdoors as an avid fisherman was something that he enjoyed but he also loved to dance, listen to his Cajun music and go gambling.

Mr. Roderick Vizinat is survived by two daughters, Brenda Quesnel and her husband Mark, Carla Ortego and her husband Dennis; four grandchildren Dustin Ortego and his wife Nicole, Brook Pleasant and her husband Beau, Angela Ortego, Jenna Quesnel, one sister Marylin (Dee) Leger and six great grandchildren to cherish his memory.

Roderick Vizinat was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Ruth Vizinat, his parents, Jerdi Vizinat and Essie Daire, and his sister Dorothy Frey. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Per his request there will be no memorial service. Donations can be made in his name to St. Joseph Hospice.
