The Life of James Robert Freeman

James R. "Jim" Freeman, 84, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Magnolia Estates Nursing Home in Lafayette.

A private family gathering will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Mausoleum at a later date.

James R. "Jim" Freeman was a resident of Lafayette, Louisiana for most of his life. He was born in Arkansas on September 15, 1932. Jim was a loving father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all who knew him. He was retired from Teledyne Movible Offshore. The family would like to specially thank, David Livingston, Jim''s sister-in-law, Pearlie Freeman, and his special nephew, John Broussard.

He leaves to cherish his memory, three daughters, Terri Chancellor and her husband Fred, Gwen Scarborough and her husband Mike, and Debbie Freeman Honeycutt and her husband, Steve; two sons, Jimmy Freeman and Guy Freeman; seven grandchildren, Chet Ullrich, Robert Ullrich, Justin Scarborough, Damian Freeman, Lance Freeman, T.J. Scarborough, and Leah Spivey; eight great grandchildren, Brandon Le, Matthew Le, Alexander Le, Jaden Easley, Peyton Le, Madilyn Hebert, Taylor Freeman, and Graham Scarborough; and numerous nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Broussard Freeman; his parents, Robert Lee Freeman and Arien Kane Freeman; his brothers, Jerry Freeman and Bill Freeman; his sisters, Betty Jo Freeman, Mary Freeman, and Sue Hendry; and his daughter-in-law, Tina Freeman.
