The Life of Fern M Moll

Fern M. (Hoppes) Moll, 81, of Longswamp Township, died Saturday, February 4, 2017, in Kutztown Manor Nursing Home, Kutztown, where she was a resident since August 14, 2015. She was the wife of John R. Moll, whom she married April 12, 1952.

Born in Maxatawny Township, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Eva (Guinther) Hoppes. Fern was a member of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church, Mertztown. Mrs. Moll was employed as a secretary in the dietary department of The Lutheran Home at Topton, Longswamp Township, for over 15 years until her retirement in 2000. Fern enjoyed spending time with her family, including her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a dedicated and enthusiastic BINGO player.

In addition to her Husband of 64 years, John, Fern is survived by a Daughter, Carol A. (Moll) widow of Barry L. Moyer, Mertztown; Sons, Randy J. husband of Michelle A. (Gouldner) Moll, Alburtis and Jeffrey S. husband of Dorinda R. (Gouldner) Moll, Lenhartsville. Other survivors include 3 Sisters, LaRue Hoppes, Breinigsville; Janet (Hoppes) Boyer, Washington; Marianna (Hoppes) Strunk, Green Lane; 2 Brothers, Jack husband of Carol Hoppes, Seipstown and Ronald Hoppes, Philadelphia. There are 7 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren. Fern was predeceased by a Sister, Mary (Hoppes) Munn and 2 Brothers, Howard Hoppes, Jr., and William Hoppes.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at 10:30 AM from Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 25 East Weis Street, Topton, with Reverend Jeremiah A. Sassaman, officiating. Interment in Topton Union Cemetery, Topton. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home.

The family requests contributions be made to Heartland Hospice, 2201 Ridgewood Road, Suite 180, Wyomissing, PA 19610. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
